FAMU to honor Hay and White for their contributions during Homecoming Weekend
TALLAHASSEE, FLA – Indelible Solutions (Indelible) CEO and Co-founder, Joshua Hay, and Co-founder and Chief Business Development Officer and Florida A&M University (FAMU) Board of Trustees Member, Michael D. White, II to be recognized by FAMU School of Business and Industry (SBI) for their philanthropic contributions by establishing a $250,000 endowment at 2:30 p.m. ET on Friday, October 27, 2023, on the campus of FAMU.
The endowment, created by Hay and White, will benefit students who attend SBI by offering scholarships to support a strong educational foundation while supporting the cost reduction of tuition. To date, they have contributed $100,000 of the $250,000 endowment.
“As a graduate of FAMU’s School of Business and Industry, I can personally speak to the impact this institution has on a student’s professional trajectory. I have also witnessed the financial challenges that can be detrimental to success, as they relate to paying for college. Our goal through this endowment, is to reduce the burdens associated with the rising cost of tuition to allow students to focus on learning, professional development, and preparation for their future careers,” explained Hay.
Hay and White met while attending FAMU in 2008. As aspiring entrepreneurs both declared accounting majors within the School of Business and Industry. Hay and White attribute much of their business success to the educational foundation received through the accounting program at SBI. Post graduation, and prior to forming Indelible in 2018, they pursued careers in the public and private sectors.
“When I was a student at FAMU, I was blessed to have financial support through various scholarships. Had it not been for that funding, the dream of becoming a college graduate may have been deferred and Indelible may have never become what it is today. Opportunity is not something I take for granted. As a member of the FAMU Board of Trustees, I understand the financial needs of the students who attend FAMU. Establishing the endowment for SBI opens the door of possibilities for students to achieve their dreams, like my business partner and I have done and continue to do daily,” said White.
“We are so excited for the success of our alumni but more importantly, we are excited about their commitment to pay it forward by providing scholarships for our students in perpetuity,” shared Dr. Shawnta Friday-Stroud, Dean of SBI, Vice President for University Advancement, and Executive Director of the FAMU Foundation at FAMU.
Hay and White are trailblazing entrepreneurs who believe in giving back to the communities they serve. Their commitment to philanthropy led them to create Indelible Impacts, the charitable entity of Indelible. To date Indelible has contributed over $1,500,000 in philanthropic contributions and in-kind support services. These contributions have assisted underserved communities by providing innovative solutions to address health equity, educational advancement, economic opportunity and environmental sustainability.
In fact, on December 9, 2023, Indelible Impacts will host its 4th Annual Indelible Gives Holiday Festival in Tallahassee. It will be a complimentary event open to families and community members. The festival will offer free food, toys, and clothes, a local agency resource fair, and a celebrity concert.
Shortly after Indelible’s inception, Hay and White were extended an opportunity to strategically partner with a larger firm to provide services under an existing contract in the state of Florida. The two eventually accepted the invitation to partner and to seize an opportunity that would allow them to realize their entrepreneurial aspirations by developing and operating the management consultancy, Indelible Solutions.
